Our client is expanding their team and is searching for a Commissioning Specialist to join their MEP Engineering group in Austin, Texas. WHAT YOULL BE DOING
As a Commissioning Specialist, youll work alongside architects and engineers to oversee systems testing, review design and construction documents, and support project teams on a variety of initiatives. Your contributions will be essential in delivering high-quality educational and healthcare projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with the development of the Owners Project Requirements (OPR)
- Ensuring Basis of Design (BOD) documents align with the OPR
- Evaluating and reviewing design documents
- Creating commissioning specifications
- Assessing and approving submittals
- Conducting site visits to monitor project progress
- Participating in commissioning meetings
- Developing and verifying pre-functional and startup checklists
- Performing functional testing of building systems, including seasonal evaluations
- Managing and updating issue logs
- Reviewing Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) reports
- Compiling systems manuals
- Preparing final commissioning reports
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
We want motivated, detail-oriented professionals who are committed to excellence. Heres what our client is looking for:
- 2-3 years of experience in the industry
- Strong ability to evaluate complex building systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and performance standards
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures and best practices
- Experience with commissioning software such as CxAlloy or Facility Grid
- EIT, PE, or commissioning certification is preferred
- Experience in controls, Testing and Balancing (TAB), or HVAC design is a plus
