Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years of experience in a consulting engineering or design/build environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team of engineers in designing mechanical systems for building environments. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction
• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building types
• Perform building energy modeling and ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met
• Prepare technical reports, construction documents, and specifications
• Conduct site visits and provide construction support as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) License (required)
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design for buildings
• Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and MEP design standards
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Experience interfacing directly with clients and managing projects

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Experience with healthcare facility design
• Knowledge of hydronic systems and plumbing design
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and controls
• Construction support and field experience
• Proficiency in energy modeling software tools
