Our team is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) - Recovery to join our team in Las Cruces, NM. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including a $20,000 sign-on bonus.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) - Recovery, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and quality care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor patient progress, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
Department/Unit Summary
Join our team in a 16-bed PACU/Recovery unit, located on the 1st floor, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. We are staffed with RNs, CNAs and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for preoperative patients from general surgery, bariatrics surgery, orthopedic and urological procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced monitoring technology to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure optimal outcomes for our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Monitor and assess patient recovery, including vital signs, pain management, and wound care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and self-management techniques
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development programs
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in recovery or critical care nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed
