Job Summary

The Project Controls Specialist supports project execution by providing field-based oversight, reporting, and coordination. This role works closely with project estimators to align scope, schedule, and cost tracking, and is responsible for developing clear, professional presentations and reporting materials for project stakeholders and leadership. The ideal candidate brings hands-on field experience, strong proficiency with digital tools (including PowerPoint and standard project reporting software), and the ability to translate field conditions and project data into actionable summaries for decision-makers. Nuclear industry experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field-based project controls support, monitoring progress, schedule adherence, and cost/scope alignment for assigned project activities.
  • Coordinate with project estimators to validate field conditions, scope assumptions, and cost impacts, without holding primary estimating responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain project reporting materials, including PowerPoint presentations, status updates, and summary reports for project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Track project performance against baseline schedule and budget, identifying variances and communicating findings to project management.
  • Support change order tracking and reporting, including summarizing cost and schedule impacts as needed.
  • Collaborate with site management, contractors, and project team members to gather accurate, up-to-date field information.
  • Maintain organized project documentation to support audit, compliance, and reporting needs.
  • Perform additional project controls and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Field experience on industrial, energy, or construction projects.
  • Strong proficiency with digital tools and software, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and standard project reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with estimators, project managers, and site personnel to gather and communicate project information.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, professional presentations and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple project activities in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Nuclear industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with project scheduling or project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP, or similar).
  • Prior experience supporting or interfacing with cost estimating processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
