An exciting opportunity is open for a highly driven, technically proficient Senior R&D Supply Chain Specialist to support a leading international player in satellite-based Earth observation and advanced imagery. Employing over 500 people worldwide, this organization operates commercial satellite constellations that provide critical data for defense, intelligence, maritime monitoring, and disaster management.

Operating at the epicenter of rapid hardware development, you will bring a startup mindset to support engineering teams designing complex electronics. Your mission is to move quickly, remove bottlenecks, map out creative sourcing paths, and keep prototype builds moving forward smoothly under tight, shifting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Velocity Engineering Support: Serve as the core supply chain counterpart for electronic engineering teams, translating early concepts, evolving Bills of Materials (BOMs), and mid-design changes into immediate sourcing actions.
  • Rapid Sourcing Execution: Oversee the procurement of electronic components, semiconductor parts, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, RF parts, and custom mechanical prototype pieces, ensuring minimal down-time during design pivots.
  • Component Optimization: Provide engineers with real-time insight into component lead times, alternatives, obsolescence risks, and quick-turn manufacturing availability.
  • Supplier Engagement & Expediting: Partner closely with specialized, small-batch suppliers and quick-turn PCB/PCBA vendors; proactively negotiate accelerated manufacturing slots and expedite shipments under compressed timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate fluidly across engineering, manufacturing, and operations, creating a living view of supply risks across active programs to implement immediate workarounds.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Supply Chain, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in electronics sourcing, component procurement, or engineering supply chain roles in fast-moving hardware or prototyping environments.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong technical comprehension of semiconductors, passive components, PCB stackups, PCBA fabrication flows, and the ability to confidently interpret electronic schematics and manufacturing documentation.
  • Mindset: Proven capability to thrive in startup-like conditions with high ambiguity, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Tools: Proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases alongside technical engineering/project management tools.
  • Language: Professional working proficiency in English.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:

  • Prior background working in deep-tech environments, hardware startups, or advanced R&D groups.
  • Existing business relationships with global component distributors and agile PCB/PCBA manufacturers.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP, or Six Sigma).
