About the job AIT Engineer – Power Systems

AIT Engineer – Power Systems | Valencia, Spain

Role Overview

An exceptional, hands-on technical opportunity is open for an AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) Engineer specializing in Power Systems. This role supports a premier international space technology company that develops and operates Earth observation satellite constellations. Providing mission-critical insights across maritime awareness, security, and disaster management, the organization is aggressively scaling up its production footprint in Europe.

Based on-site at their facility in Valencia, you will take ownership of the physical integration, electrical testing, and validation of sophisticated satellite electrical power subsystems (EPS). This position sits at the perfect crossroads of electrical hardware design, floor production, and system-level qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Assembly & Integration: Execute the physical integration and routing of critical satellite power subsystems, including solar arrays, power distribution units (PDUs), battery modules, and regulation electronics.
  • Electrical System Testing: Plan and perform rigourous subsystem-level electrical verification, checkouts, and functional validations to guarantee payload and architecture integrity before launch.
  • Troubleshooting & RCA: Drive immediate root cause analysis (RCA) and deep technical troubleshooting across complex electrical schematics and wiring layouts to fix failures detected during build phases.
  • Process Industrialization: Actively support production ramp-up, helping transition custom prototype builds into highly reliable, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing workflows.
  • Design Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering branches to contribute vital insights for Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) and Design-for-Testability (DFT).
  • Technical Documentation: Author, maintain, and execute highly specific, clear integration procedures, anomaly reports, and verification check-lists.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely matching technical track.
  • Core Experience: 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in the development, assembly, electrical integration, or validation testing of complex power or hardware distribution architectures.
  • Industry Sector: Proven experience with high-reliability hardware networks. Prior background in Space (NewSpace/Satellite architectures), Defense, or high-tier Aerospace fields is heavily preferred.
  • Technical Depth: Extensive familiarity with integration workflows, troubleshooting instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power loads), and software configuration systems.
  • Leadership & Traits: Capable of acting as a technical anchor on the factory floor, mentoring lower-level assembly technicians, and working fluently with multidisciplinary project managers.
  • Language: Professional-level written and spoken fluency in English.

The Offer

  • Location: Vibrant coastal hub of Valencia, Spain (On-site position).
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent employment contract.
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary ranging from €50,000 to €72,000, scaled to technical background and expertise.
  • Relocation Support: Comprehensive assistance package for international or regional hires (covers flight paths, temporary housing setups, and local moving logistics).
