About the job Agronomy Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate agricultural professional to manage farmer and supplier relationships while ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality, certified organic crops. This role is responsible for overseeing compliance with Organic, Regenerative Agriculture, and Fair Trade standards through an Internal Control System (ICS), while providing technical expertise to improve productivity, sustainability, and long-term farm performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Farmer Development

Collaborate with sourcing and procurement teams to coordinate supplier selection in accordance with ICS guidelines.

Identify, assess, and enroll potential farmers into the certified farming system.

Support supplier onboarding and continuous development to ensure long-term quality and sustainability standards.
2. Compliance & Internal Control System (ICS)

Implement and monitor Organic, Regenerative Agriculture, Fair Trade, and Social Responsibility standards throughout the supply chain.

Ensure compliance with certification and regulatory requirements.

Maintain and continuously improve the Internal Control System to enhance monitoring efficiency and risk coverage.

Monitor compliance with agricultural laws, food safety regulations, and certification standards.

Implement, track, and follow up on corrective actions.
3. Field Support & Technical Advisory

Conduct regular farm visits to monitor crop quality, productivity, and compliance.

Provide technical guidance on crop management, soil health, pest control, and organic production methods.

Develop and implement solutions to production challenges in certified organic environments.

Build strong, trust-based relationships with farmers and suppliers.

Ensure proper handling practices during harvesting, storage, and transportation to prevent crop damage.

Monitor fertilizer use, weed management, and pest and disease control in accordance with organic standards.

Validate and prepare yield forecasts for each harvest cycle.
4. Extension & Agricultural Innovation

Conduct field trials and experiments to improve crop yield and quality.

Develop best practices for irrigation, fertilization, and organic pest and weed management.

Supervise environmental and biodiversity projects, including intercropping and soil regeneration initiatives.

Design and deliver training programs on Organic, Regenerative Agriculture, Fair Trade, and sustainability standards.

Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement among farming partners.
5. Reporting & Data Management

Analyze operational and field data to support management decision-making.

Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations on farming performance and compliance.

Maintain accurate records and databases of farm activities and monitoring results.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
-
Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Extension, or related field.
Experience
-
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in agronomy, preferably in certified organic or regenerative farming environments.

Proven experience working directly with farmers and agricultural supply chains.
