Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of New Product Development (NPD) to lead the innovation agenda across their portfolio of health, wellness, and personal care brands. This role will be responsible for driving the full product development lifecycle from insight to ideation, development, and successful commercialization in alignment with consumer needs, market trends, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the NPD roadmap in line with company growth strategy and brand positioning.
- Drive innovation across both core and adjacent product categories, identifying new business opportunities.
- Translate consumer and market insights into actionable innovation strategies and product concepts.
Innovation & Product Development
- Lead cross-functional development of new products, including ideation, formulation, packaging, and validation.
- Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, QA/QC, Marketing, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Ensure all new products meet regulatory standards, quality benchmarks, and commercial viability.
Project & Pipeline Management
- Oversee the NPD pipeline using stage-gate or agile development processes.
- Ensure timely delivery of innovation projects within budget, scope, and quality parameters.
- Monitor product performance post-launch and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Team Leadership
- Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing NPD team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Develop team capabilities in technical development, trend analysis, and consumer-centric design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in NPD, Innovation, or R&D within the FMCG, personal care, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end product development processes and launching successful products.
- Strong knowledge of Thai FDA regulations, compliance, and product registration processes.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Commercially minded with a deep understanding of consumer trends and market dynamics.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in both traditional and modern wellness or OTC products.
- Familiarity with regional product compliance for ASEAN or global markets.
