Job Overview
The Gold Trading Senior Expert will lead the development and execution of gold trading strategies across both physical and derivative markets. This position is responsible for maximizing trading profitability, managing portfolio risks, overseeing daily trading activities, and providing strategic leadership to the trading team. The role also requires close monitoring of global market conditions and ensuring that all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Trading Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute directional gold trading strategies to optimize profitability and portfolio performance.
- Manage physical gold positions as well as derivative instruments, including futures and options.
- Monitor global gold prices, FX movements, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments to identify trading opportunities and risks.
- Establish and oversee position limits, risk management frameworks, and hedging strategies.
- Work closely with senior management on portfolio strategy, investment planning, and capital allocation.
- Lead, coach, and develop traders and analysts to achieve business and trading objectives.
- Prepare regular market insights, trading performance reports, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
- Ensure all trading activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, risk controls, and audit standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- CFA or FRM certification would be an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in gold or commodity trading, with strong hands-on experience in directional trading.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in developing and managing gold trading strategies across physical and derivative markets.
- Comprehensive understanding of gold markets, futures, options, and hedging techniques.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and market forecasting capabilities.
- Ability to assess market trends and translate economic, financial, and geopolitical developments into trading decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing traders and analysts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to provide clear insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Reuters, advanced Excel, and relevant trading platforms.
