About the job Costing and Profitability Section Manager:

Job Purpose:

To support the finance transformation initiative by providing detailed cost analysis, gross profit monitoring, and transparency into idle costs and fixed overhead. The role is responsible for building cost visibility models and collaborating with production and planning teams and other key stakeholders to improve cost control and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align costing strategies with business transformation goals.

Lead and manage the costing and profitability analysis function, including supervision of junior analysts or costing staff if applicable.

  • Develop and maintain standard costing models for all SKUs, including variable cost, fixed cost, and allocated overhead components.
  • Build Gross Profit dashboards that separate Idle Cost and Fixed Overhead to support executive-level profitability analysis.
  • Work closely with production planning, operations, and finance to understand real production volumes and cost behavior.
  • Identify and monitor idle capacity and propose appropriate accounting treatment and reporting.
  • Perform cost variance analysis (e.g., actual vs standard, budget vs actual) with insights for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support monthly management reporting on cost components and manufacturing performance.
  • Assist in implementation of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) or other advanced cost allocation methodologies.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team for inventory valuation and COGS accuracy.
  • Participate in finance transformation projects related to cost transparency, system integration, and reporting automation.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably involving SKU-level cost analysis and margin management.

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills (pivot, lookup, formula-based modeling)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard cost, absorption cost, and idle cost concepts
  • Detail-oriented, strong communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration mindset
  • Driven, Energetic, Analytical, Forward-Thinking with good interpersonal skills.
  • High responsible and strong team player and able to work independently.
  • Experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working in data-heavy and fast-changing business environments
  • Proactive, hands-on, and can operate independently with minimal supervision
