Position: Head of Compliance
About the Opportunity:
The Head of Compliance will lead the local compliance function, ensuring adherence to local regulations while aligning with global compliance standards. This role involves close collaboration with the global compliance team to implement group-wide policies, manage regulatory relationships, and oversee day-to-day compliance operations.
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
- Ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements, including licensing conditions, reporting obligations, and ongoing regulatory filings.
- Act as the primary liaison with local regulators (e.g., [Local Financial Authority], Central Bank) and manage inspections, audits, and inquiries.
- Work with the global compliance team to align local policies with international standards (e.g., FATF, global AML frameworks).
- Implement and maintain robust AML/CFT, KYC, and customer due diligence (CDD) policies in line with both local and global requirements.
- Oversee transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting (SAR), and sanctions screening, ensuring consistency with global compliance systems.
- Ensure compliance with cross-border regulations such as the FATF Travel Rule, coordinating with global teams for seamless implementation.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, incorporating global risk frameworks where applicable.
- Establish and enforce internal compliance controls, ensuring alignment with group-wide policies.
- Lead investigations into compliance breaches, reporting findings to both local management and global compliance leadership.
- Prepare and submit local regulatory reports (e.g., financial crime reports, capital adequacy) while ensuring global compliance teams are informed.
- Present compliance updates to local and global leadership, including the Board, senior management, and global compliance committees.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Operations teams across local and global functions to ensure regulatory alignment.
Requirement:
- 7+ years in compliance, preferably within a crypto exchange, fintech, or traditional financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of local financial regulations (e.g., [Local AML Laws], Payment Services Act) and global crypto compliance trends.
- Experience working in a multinational organization, coordinating between local and global teams.
- Deep understanding of crypto regulations, blockchain analytics, and financial crime risks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
