Job Purpose

To lead and manage the taxation and accounts payable functions, ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations while maintaining efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all payable transactions.

This role is responsible for overseeing tax reporting, compliance and planning activities, audits and reporting under both TFRS and regulatory requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

Taxation

  • Ensure compliance with all insurance industry-specific tax laws and regulations, including premium taxes, VAT, withholding taxes, and corporate income taxes.

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate tax returns and reports in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to regulatory deadlines.

  • Coordinate with tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants during tax audits and assessments related to insurance operations.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation affecting insurance products, premiums, and claims, advising management on implications and necessary adjustments.

  • Support tax planning initiatives to optimize tax liabilities.

  • Maintain accurate and organized tax documentation for internal reviews and external audits.

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee the entire accounts payable cycle, including month-end and year-end AP-related closing activities.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, reimbursements, and other payables.

  • Conduct regular reconciliation of AP-related ledger accounts and resolve outstanding issues promptly.

  • Enforce internal controls and compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Liaise with auditors and internal teams during audits and financial statement reviews.

  • Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies or payment issues.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the team, including training and conducting performance evaluations to foster a productive and high-performing department.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement suitable automation tools.

  • Ensure clear communication and coordination with other finance functions and business units to support organizational goals.

Candidate Specifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Masters degree or CPA/TA license in Thailand is an advantage.

  • At least 5 years of tax experience, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of Thai tax law and regulations, especially related to non-life insurance.

  • Familiarity with TFRS and OIC reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Experience with tax filing platforms (e.g., RD Prep, e-Filing, Excel).
