Job Purpose

The candidate will support the Head of Finance & Accounting by working closely with external investment managers and the head office team to maximize investment returns, manage liquidity, and optimize funds in accordance with the companys investment policy. This role involves monitoring investment performance, ensuring compliance with investment guidelines, and facilitating effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration with Key Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with external investment managers to oversee the management of the company's investment portfolio.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of external managers, ensuring alignment with the companys investment objectives and policies.
  • Facilitate regular communication and reporting between external managers and the head office team.

Liquidity and Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage and coordinate investment, liquidity (treasury), and asset-liability management (ALM) to optimize investment performance within the agreed level of risk.
  • Examine cash requirements for normal operations and develop cash flow monitoring and analysis.
  • Prepare adequate liquidity for cash disbursements such as general fixed expenses, contract dues, and claims settlements.
  • Monitor investment income and implement fund investment strategies, including monitoring portfolio status with outsourced Asset Management firms and taking necessary actions related to investment guidelines and policies.

Portfolio Management:

  • Assist in optimizing the allocation of funds across various asset classes in line with the company's investment policy and OIC regulation.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the investment portfolio to identify opportunities for rebalancing and enhancing returns.
  • Manage day-to-day activities in the companys portfolios and funds.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all investment activities comply with regulatory requirements, group policies, and company investment policies.
  • Understand and stay updated with laws and regulations, including insurance regulations, and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the companys assets.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular investment performance reports to senior management and the investment committee.
  • Communicate investment insights, strategies, and performance updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be a contact person for banks and financial institutions for deposits, loans, and other related matters, including controlling financial documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or any related fields.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CIMA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years in investment experience in fund management.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Sound understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and risk management principles.
  • Experience with insurance companies is preferable but not necessary.
  • Basic verbal and written English skills are mandatory.
