About the Role
We are seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) technology team focused on biochar production, azolla cultivation, and carbon credit trading through our partnership with Carbon future. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for complex environmental data systems that serve field operators, business stakeholders, and international auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Design & User Experience
- Design user experiences and interfaces for Web and Mobile MRV applications
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes for biochar production tracking and carbon credit workflows
- Develop design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across platforms
- Design dashboards and reporting interfaces that make complex environmental data accessible and actionable
Research & Analysis
- Conduct user research with field operators, production teams, and business stakeholders
- Analyze user feedback and behavior to inform design decisions
- Perform usability testing on MRV workflows and data entry processes
- Create user personas and journey maps for different stakeholder groups
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with external vendors developing our core applications
- Review and approve vendor-delivered UI/UX work against MRV requirements
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and IoT Engineers to ensure designs accommodate real-world data flows
- Present design concepts and rationale to senior leadership and Carbon future partners
Quality & Standards
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and cross-platform compatibility
- Maintain design documentation and style guides
- Support quality assurance testing and user acceptance processes
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
- 2-4 years of UX/UI design experience, preferably with data-heavy or industrial applications
- Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and outcomes
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools
- Experience with responsive web design and mobile interface design
- Understanding of front-end development constraints (HTML/CSS knowledge preferred)
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into intuitive user experiences
- Experience working with external vendors and managing design reviews
- Detail-oriented with ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with environmental monitoring, agricultural tech, or IoT applications
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices
- Understanding of audit and compliance workflows
- Experience with international/multi-language design considerations
