Job Summary

The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for researching market trends, consumer insights, and industry opportunities to support the development and launch of new products. This role manages the New Product Development (NPD) process from concept creation through commercialization, coordinating closely with R&D, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches that meet market needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Market Research

  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer trend assessments to identify opportunities for new product development.
  • Generate and present innovative product concepts aligned with market demand and company strategy.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team throughout the product development process, from concept creation to final commercialization.
  • Support packaging and product design development to ensure market competitiveness and brand consistency.

New Product Development (NPD) Management

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end NPD process to ensure products are launched according to planned timelines.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to monitor project milestones and resolve development challenges.
  • Ensure product specifications, formulations, and packaging requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.

Regulatory & Compliance Coordination

  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Manage product-related documentation, ingredient approvals, import/export requirements, product claims, labeling, and packaging compliance.
  • Ensure all product labels and packaging materials are reviewed and approved before production.

Supplier Management

  • Source, evaluate, and propose new suppliers, manufacturers, and packaging partners to support product innovation and cost optimization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, efficiency, and competitive pricing.
  • Support negotiations and coordination throughout the product development and production process.

Marketing Support & Product Communication

  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to develop product-related marketing materials, including:
    • Product Brochures
    • Banners
    • Printed Materials
    • Exhibition Booths
    • Promotional Premiums
    • Sales Support Materials
  • Ensure product information is accurately communicated across all marketing channels.

International Business Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with overseas suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
  • Support participation in international trade shows and exhibitions to promote products and expand market opportunities.
  • Travel internationally when required for business meetings, supplier visits, and exhibitions.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in Product Management, Product Development, NPD, or FMCG/Food Industry is preferred.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of food regulations, labeling requirements, and product compliance is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Able to travel internationally when required.
