Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance to join our growing restaurant group. The ideal candidate will be a strategic financial leader with a strong background in the restaurant industry. The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization, ensuring financial health, and supporting the overall growth and success of the restaurant group.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the restaurant group's overall objectives.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish financial goals and budgets.
    • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and planning to support decision-making processes.
    • Manage bank accounts and bank relationships and compliance
  1. Budgeting and Financial Control:
    • Oversee the budgeting process and monitor financial performance against budgets.
    • Implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets.
    • Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
    • Ensure timely compliance of payments and returns of all statutory requirements like GST, professional tax and other related taxes.
  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide regular financial updates to the executive team and stakeholders.
    • Analyze financial data and present key insights and recommendations.
  1. Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
    • Recruit, train, and develop finance staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
    • Foster collaboration between finance and other departments within the organization.
  1. Financial Decision Support:
    • Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with operational teams to analyze financial impact and feasibility of new initiatives.
    • Assess the financial implications of potential business opportunities.
    • Participate in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.
  1. Store, Vendor and Contract Management:
    • Oversee the food store room and inventory control procedures.
    • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
    • Review and approve contracts to ensure alignment with financial goals and risk mitigation.
  1. Technology
    • Participate in technology upgradation for the organization.
    • Review and audit existing systems to leverage technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree or CA qualification is a plus. MBA Finance, ACCA Certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Director of Finance or a similar role in the restaurant industry.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant finance, cost structures, and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficient in financial management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
