Role Introduction

The Manager - Community Sports Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day non-event operations of the Indoor Sports Centre and the Youth Sports Ground, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing staff, ensuring the facility is clean and well-maintained, coordinating bookings and activities, ensuring compliance with league regulations and a positive experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Community Sports Operations team in different areas including business planning, venue and equipment readiness planning, staff training and programme development.
  • Provide support on the delivery of events in YSG and KTA.
  • Oversee and ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operations of Community Sports Facilities.
  • Plan, organize, and assign daily work for Community Sport Executives, supervise and train the team to ensure successful delivery of activities.
  • Prepare work schedules and rosters for Community Sport Executives staff.
  • Manage relationships with medium to long term lease holders of sports facilities.
  • Assist in developing the venue customer journey, including pre-event communications, on site processes and dealing with post event feedback.
  • Collaborate with all internal venue departments by providing clear, concise, and timely communication to ensure smooth running of events, and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Implement venue rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and develop standard operating procedures for the Community Sports operations team and monitor their compliance.
  • Maintain a positive public image and foster positive relations with patrons and staff.
  • Prepare accurate reports of monthly sports activities and utilisation.
  • Attend meetings and engagements where required by the Head of Events.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Sports & Recreation, Facilities Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant work experience, with 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership with excellent analytical and organizational skill.
  • Be creative, flexible, highly motivated and responsible.
  • Collaborative with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to details with good logical thinking, with strong problem-solving abilities and negotiation skills.
  • Well-organized and meticulous, with the ability to work under pressures .
  • Ability to multitasking and prioritizing.
  • Proficient in understanding and implementing Health & Safety protocols related to venue and event management.
  • Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing.
  • Experience of Momentous, EBMS, CAD, VBS, FMP or any events systems a beneficial.
  • Good command of written and spoken in both English and Chinese.
