Role Introduction
The Manager - Community Sports Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day non-event operations of the Indoor Sports Centre and the Youth Sports Ground, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing staff, ensuring the facility is clean and well-maintained, coordinating bookings and activities, ensuring compliance with league regulations and a positive experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Community Sports Operations team in different areas including business planning, venue and equipment readiness planning, staff training and programme development.
- Provide support on the delivery of events in YSG and KTA.
- Oversee and ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operations of Community Sports Facilities.
- Plan, organize, and assign daily work for Community Sport Executives, supervise and train the team to ensure successful delivery of activities.
- Prepare work schedules and rosters for Community Sport Executives staff.
- Manage relationships with medium to long term lease holders of sports facilities.
- Assist in developing the venue customer journey, including pre-event communications, on site processes and dealing with post event feedback.
- Collaborate with all internal venue departments by providing clear, concise, and timely communication to ensure smooth running of events, and maintaining high standards of service.
- Implement venue rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and develop standard operating procedures for the Community Sports operations team and monitor their compliance.
- Maintain a positive public image and foster positive relations with patrons and staff.
- Prepare accurate reports of monthly sports activities and utilisation.
- Attend meetings and engagements where required by the Head of Events.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Sports & Recreation, Facilities Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years relevant work experience, with 5 years supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership with excellent analytical and organizational skill.
- Be creative, flexible, highly motivated and responsible.
- Collaborative with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to details with good logical thinking, with strong problem-solving abilities and negotiation skills.
- Well-organized and meticulous, with the ability to work under pressures .
- Ability to multitasking and prioritizing.
- Proficient in understanding and implementing Health & Safety protocols related to venue and event management.
- Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing.
- Experience of Momentous, EBMS, CAD, VBS, FMP or any events systems a beneficial.
- Good command of written and spoken in both English and Chinese.
