Role Introduction:
As the Sports Bar Host, you will be responsible for welcoming and seating guests, managing the wait list, and ensuring a positive and memorable customer experience. You will work closely with the Sports Bar Manager to uphold the highest standards of hospitality and guest service. Your role will be pivotal in creating an inviting atmosphere and setting the tone for the overall guest experience at the Sports Bar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests to the Sports Bar, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage the host stand, including seating guests, maintaining the wait list, and coordinating with the service team to ensure timely seating
- Monitor the flow of guests and adjust seating arrangements and wait times to optimize the guest experience
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information to guests about menu offerings, upcoming events, and any operational changes
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and efficient manner
- Assist in managing the reservation system, including making, modifying, and confirming reservations
- Liaise with the Sports Bar Manager to ensure seamless coordination of guest service
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Sports Bar's layout, menu, and entertainment offerings to better assist guests
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve guest service standards
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, and customer-centric attitude at all times
- Contribute to the implementation of special events, promotions, and themed nights at the Sports Bar
- Assist in the collection and analysis of guest feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Support the implementation of any additional guest service initiatives as directed by the Sports Bar Manager
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a sports bar, restaurant, or entertainment venue
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests of all backgrounds
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle various guest situations
- Proficient in using reservation management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, staff, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Passion for sports and the ability to engage guests in conversations about sports and entertainment
- Bilingual (English and Cantonese)
