Role Introduction
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the daily landscape maintenance and horticulture operations within Kai Tak Sports Park. Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Landscape, you will lead a dedicated team of grounds maintenance professionals, leveraging your extensive horticultural expertise to plan, coordinate, and execute all plaza landscaping-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organize the team, assign tasks and oversee the work progress. Ensure the team completes various grounds maintenance and cleaning tasks, such as lawn mowing, tree trimming, waste removal, etc.
- Inspect and maintain the various facilities and equipment within the plaza to ensure they are in good and safe working condition.
- Develop and implement the plaza's maintenance plan, completing all scheduled servicing and repair tasks in a timely manner.
- Closely monitor changes in the plaza environment and propose improvement suggestions, coordinating their implementation. Ensure the plaza maintains a clean and well-kept appearance.
- Manage the work scheduling of the team.
- Monitor the quality and efficiency of maintenance operations, and report work progress and issues to the supervisor.
- Coordinate the handling of emergency situations, such as equipment breakdowns, accidents, etc. to ensure a swift and effective response and resolution.
- Regularly provide training and skills guidance to the team members to enhance the overall professional competence of the team.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Higher Diploma or above education level in horticulture, landscape design, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in horticulture maintenance, landscape management, or a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of plant species, care requirements, and best horticultural practices.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining various landscaping equipment.
- Possession of a valid HK driving license is an advantage.
- Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties.
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-minded, able to work independently and under pressure.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Readiness to work on shift on event days, weekends and public holidays.
