Role Introduction

The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and operating of all security systems to ensure the safety and protection of the public, guests, visitors, employees, contractors (stakeholders) and assets throughout the Kai Tak Sports Park, including day to day and for events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Duty Controller on all security related issues at all times.
  • Monitor Security Systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, fire alarms, and other surveillance equipment. To keep a close eye on multiple screens or displays to detect any potential security breaches, suspicious activities, or emergencies.
  • Provide swift response in the event of an alarm activation, unauthorized access attempt, or any other security incident.
  • Ensure the initial deployment of available resources to respond, and the responding security personnel be aware of the required actions that specified in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Determine the severity of the perceived threat and report to Senior Operator for instructions.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for all security-related matters for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain constant communication via radio or telephone with on-site security personnel, provide real-time information, instructions, and updates regarding security incidents.
  • Liaise with external law enforcement/emergency agencies, such as the police, custom or fire department, to coordinate responses and provide them with accurate information.
  • Maintain detailed records of all security-related activities. Document details of incidents, alarms, responses, and any other relevant information in the Incident Management System / Physical Security Information System / Central Control and Monitoring System.
  • Assist the Senior Operator in compiling the shift report by end of each shift. Overnight shift operator will be required to compile the Daily Situation Report.
  • Ensure that all security control room equipment and systems are functioning correctly by carrying out routine checks at the beginning of shift, and to report any troubleshoot technical issues, malfunctions or faults promptly to the Senior Operator.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Senior Operator / Duty Controller.

Requirements

  • Form 5 or above education level, holder of security-related fields is preferred.
  • Holder of valid security personnel license and QAS certificate.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in security or law enforcement. Prior experience in security operations or control room monitoring is required.
  • Experience in using security systems, CCTV monitoring, or emergency response procedures can be beneficial.
  • Knowledge on Fire Fighting System, Security System and computer knowledge are preferred.
  • Solid concept on frontline security course of action, venue security, crowd/traffic management/control and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Prior experience and network with local officials and agents of law enforcement preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Chinese (Cantonese) with good communication ability is often required.
  • Work in shift hour is required.
