Ground Staff - Sports Turf

Reports to : Manager - Sports Turf

Role Introduction

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the function and appearance of the facility, oversees the building grounds, and assures facility readiness for a smooth operation of events, and performing grounds, turf and landscape maintenance assigned by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of grounds maintenance tasks to include edging, mowing, trimming, waste and litter removal, fertilizing, laying sod and raking. Spreads seed, plants foliage and shrubbery, aerates sports fields, lawns and soils, trims and maintains landscape.
• Perform different tasks requiring use of heavy grounds keeping, maintenance and/or custodial equipment.
• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of tools, equipment and machinery and operate lawn care equipment.
• Maintains buildings and equipment by keeping it clean and in a safe working order.
• Event set-up and changeover to include moving, arranging, assembly and disassembly, setting and removal of items needed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Secondary School or above education level with minimum of 2 years' solid work experience in sports field maintenance including operating the above-noted equipment.
• Possession of a valid HK driving license is an advantage.
• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-minded, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Proficiency in Cantonese is required. Proficiency in English and Putonghua is preferred but not mandatory.
• Readiness to work on shift on event days, weekends and public holidays.

入職要求

• 具有中學或以上學歷,並且在運動場地維護方面有至少2年的實際工作經驗, 包括操作上述設備。
• 持有有效的香港駕駛執照。
• 良好團隊合作精神，具良好人際關係處理及溝通技巧。
• 注重細節,能夠獨立工作並在壓力下工作。
• 良好粵語溝通能力，具英語及普通話溝通能力但不是必要要求。
• 能夠在活動日、週末和公眾假期輪班工作。
