Role Introduction

The incumbent will be responsible for the cultivation, maintenance, and care of various plants and landscapes, ensuring the health and aesthetic quality of gardens and outdoor spaces within Kai Tak Sports Park. Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Landscape, you will lead a dedicated team of grounds maintenance professionals, contributing to the overall design and development of garden areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive planting and care plans for various plants in the roof & greenwall within Kai Tak Sports Park.
  • Oversee the planting, watering, fertilizing, and general care of flowers, shrubs, trees, and other garden crops.
  • Monitor soil conditions, pests, and diseases, and take appropriate remedial actions to ensure plant health.
  • Maintain detailed records of gardening activities, plant growth data, and inventory of plants and supplies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of garden facilities, paths, and tools.
  • Coordinate the repair, replacement, and calibration of gardening tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the garden adheres to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement effective risk management strategies and oversee the use of personal protective equipment while gardening.
  • Monitor and report on plant health and growth indicators, suggesting improvement recommendations as needed.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Higher Diploma or above education level in Landscape Management, Horticulture and/or Agriculture or related disciplines.
  • With minimum of 3 years' related work experience in Roof & Vertical field or landscape management role.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining various Hort equipment and machinery.
  • Possession of a valid HK driving license is an advantage.
  • Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties.
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-minded, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge is preferred.
  • Readiness to work on shift on event days, weekends and public holidays.
