Role Introduction

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the turf nursery, ensuring the efficient cultivation, maintenance, and delivery of high-quality turf products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cultivation plans and schedules for the turf nursery.
  • Oversee the planting, watering, fertilizing, and general care of turf grass and related crops.
  • Monitor soil conditions, pests, and diseases, and take appropriate remedial actions.
  • Coordinate the harvesting, processing, and packaging of turf products for delivery.
  • Maintain detailed records of nursery activities, production data, and inventory.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the nursery facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Coordinate the repair, replacement, and calibration of nursery tools and machinery.
  • Ensure the nursery adheres to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement effective risk management strategies and oversee the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to inquiries and address any concerns related to turf products or nursery operations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, suggesting process optimization recommendations.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Higher Diploma or above education level in Turf Management, Horticulture and/or Agriculture or related disciplines.
  • With minimum of 3 years' related work experience in sports field Turf or turf management role.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining various turf equipment and machinery.
  • Possession of a valid HK driving license is an advantage.
  • Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties.
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-minded, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge is preferred.
  • Readiness to work on shift on event days, weekends and public holidays.
