Role Introduction

You will be a key person responsible for the operations of the Technical Services systems at the Sports Park Venues. These include, AV IP network, PA Networks, In-stadium video distribution system network, Electronic way finding system network, IPTV and many others. This position is operationally responsible for setting up AV equipment like displays, projectors, control systems as well as networking devices and connections at Kai Tak Sports Park to the highest possible standard.

This position will collaborate with various venue departments like marketing, operations, IT, security, facilities, etc. to execute events and improve venue experiences.

  • Work closely with team executives, coaches, players, and other staff to understand team needs and deliver AV support for practices, games, meetings, etc.
  • Partner with broadcast teams and media partners to enable AV solutions for live productions, interviews, and content distribution.
  • Coordinate with promoters, entertainment teams, and production crews to provide AV tech and live event operational support.
  • Consult with sponsors and partners to design and deliver engaging AV-based fan experiences including branded content, digital signage, activations, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, set up, and operate AV systems for diverse events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions
  • Manage and operate screens, presentation systems, Spidercam, vision mixers, and other AV equipment
  • Collaborate with event organizers, performers, and technical staff to meet specific audio-visual requirements
  • Conduct thorough system checks and make real-time adjustments to ensure the best possible AV quality
  • Monitor and maintain AV systems during events, ensuring compliance with venue regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related issues swiftly and efficiently
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade AV equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Stay current with the latest AV technology and techniques, recommending system improvements
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of AV equipment before and after events
  • Maintain accurate documentation of AV system setups, equipment inventories, and maintenance records
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices related to AV equipment operation
  • Partner with broadcast teams and media partners for live productions, interviews, and content distribution
  • Coordinate with promoters, entertainment teams, and production crews to provide comprehensive AV support for live events

Requirements

  • Qualification in AV systems or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical department, setting up live production equipment (sound, lights, and video)
  • Extensive knowledge of AV systems, including screens, presentation systems, Spidercam, and vision mixers
  • Proficiency in using relevant AV software and control systems
  • Understanding of SMPTE 2110 standards for professional media over IP networks
  • Familiarity with DMX512, Dali, Artnet, and sACN protocols (beneficial)
  • Experience with lighting systems setup for stages (beneficial)
  • Some experience in rigging for production equipment (beneficial)
  • Excellent technical skills and ability to make quick, precise adjustments during live events
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment
  • Keen interest in the sports venue industry and technological innovations
