Role Overview:

In China, the company has been operating for approximately 10 years, steadily expanding its market presence and customer base.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, the company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Managing Director of China to further strengthen its market position, drive commercial excellence, and lead the organization through its next phase of transformation in this key market. Based out of Shanghai, the role will report to Vice President of APAC and will assume the full P&L responsibility to position the company at the forefront of the industry.

Job Responsibilities​:

  • Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to drive revenue growth and to maximize market potential in China, aligning with regional and global objectives. Owns the full accountability and ownership of the company in China by working diligently to ensure goals and objectives are met and exceeded at all levels within the organization. Provide day-to-day leadership and P&L management over the business, along with a vision for near- and long-term value creation.
  • Business Development: Expand market share, with a primary focus on the wound care business, while identifying opportunities to diversify and strengthen the company's presence. Develop and implement a comprehensive national strategic plan for revenue enhancement and profitability, in alignment with the strategic initiatives of the company​
  • Operational Efficiency: Evaluate and assess opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in all aspects of the companys operations and supporting functions. This includes creating an organizational framework and supporting internal premises for the realignment of marketing, distribution, and sales activities to increase sales efficiency and overall business impact. Particular focus is on the organizational setup and qualification management of the sales force​
  • People Leadership & Culture: Foster a high-performance culture by inspiring and engaging teams, encouraging agility, and embracing change to drive innovation and business success
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all business activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, adhering to the companys ethical standards and code of conduct
  • Collaboration with Global Stakeholders: Work closely with headquarters and regional teams to localize strategic initiatives and align on key business priorities

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business or any disciplines coupling with related industry experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform and lead an organization
  • Performance driven with progressive career track record and proven success combining with 3-5 years of experience in the capacity of country head or over 8 years as a business leader in managing cross functional teams with profit and loss responsibility
  • Deep understanding of medical devices / instrument / consumables or similar business segments, with expertise in driving revenue growth and market expansion
  • Ability to operate in uncertainty, adapt to changing market dynamics, and turn challenges into opportunities
  • Skilled in encouraging teams to embrace new ways of working, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Possessing a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a matrix organization and multicultural environment
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, with the ability to collaborate, and negotiate effectively with international stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities and stakeholder management
  • Strong presentation and persuasive skills
  • Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally
