Head of Business Development APAC

Location: Shanghai

Area of responsibility: APAC with main focus on China

Job responsibilities:

Supports Head of APAC to reach financial targets of region APAC (China as first priority, ASEAN, at a later point of time ANZ) and substantially gain market share in a sustainable manner and in compliance with global Sto standards.

Steers existing business in APAC through structured monitoring of KPIs, closed followup of strategic measures and proposals for continuous improvement in teamwork with GMs and functions of relevant countries.

Supports and monitors market analysis in existing and potential new markets, e.g., market trends, relevant legislations, governmental initiatives. Identifies opportunities and threats for Sto in the region.

Supports and challenges business strategies in existing markets.

Identifies potential new markets and partners in APAC incl. business model proposals and strategies (e.g., joint-ventures, acquisitions).

Takes care of partners and importers in collaboration with the unit Market Development and leads projects in the region.

Translates market needs to relevant functions at Headquarters (e.g., Business Fields, R&D) and closely collaborates with Headquarters for sustainable business success (e.g., Controlling)

Is well-connected with other regions of the Sto world and drives best-practice-sharing.

Supports Head of APAC in planning and reporting processes, and preparation of management presentations



Job specifications:

Should come from building materials industry or global companies and possess a profound understanding of market dynamics and trends

Has strong passion and energy for business development and constantly seeking new opportunities and strategies for growth
Possesses a growth mindset, constantly learns and adapts to new challenges and opportunities

Has a proven track record of influencing and building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing effective solutions

Exhibits strong leadership qualities with capability of leading teams and driving projects towards success

Displays assertiveness in decision-making and negotiations process with an ability to effectively communicate and drive initiatives forward

Preferably possesses experience working in Asia-Pacific region and understanding of the diverse market landscape and cultural nuances

Proficient in both Chinese and English
