MuleSoft Presales Architect (Johannesburg)

Hybrid - Johannesburg - 3 days per week on-site or in-office.

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MuleSoft Architect/Pre-sales Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and pre-sales support for MuleSoft integration projects. You will work closely with clients, sales teams, and technical experts to understand customer requirements, design innovative integration solutions, and drive successful outcomes leveraging the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs, assess technical requirements, and develop compelling MuleSoft integration solutions and proposals. Conduct pre-sales presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements to showcase the capabilities and value of MuleSoft solutions.
  2. Solution Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of MuleSoft integration solutions tailored to meet customer requirements and business objectives. Define integration patterns, API strategies, data models, and deployment architectures using best practices and industry standards.
  3. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Mentor and coach team members on MuleSoft development best practices and architectural principles.
  4. Client Engagement: Engage with clients at various levels, including business stakeholders, IT executives, and technical teams, to understand their business challenges, articulate MuleSoft integration opportunities, and present technical solutions effectively.
  5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential technical risks and challenges associated with MuleSoft integration projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Ensure that proposed solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  6. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, delivery, product management, and support, to ensure seamless execution of MuleSoft integration projects and alignment with organizational goals. Share knowledge and expertise through internal training sessions, workshops, and documentation.
  7. Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of the latest trends, developments, and innovations in the integration space, particularly within the MuleSoft ecosystem. Contribute to thought leadership activities, such as blog posts, whitepapers, and speaking engagements, to showcase expertise and enhance the company's reputation as a trusted advisor in integration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a MuleSoft Architect, Solution Architect, or Pre-sales Consultant, with a strong background in designing and implementing complex integration solutions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, Mule Runtime, Anypoint Exchange, API Manager, and other MuleSoft tools and components.
  • In-depth understanding of integration architecture principles, including API-led connectivity, microservices, event-driven architecture, and hybrid integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and influence decision-makers at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, establish credibility as a trusted advisor, and foster long-term relationships.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, workshops, and industry events, as needed.
