About the job ETL Developer
Responsibilities:
Support inbound/ outbound data feeds from the data platform. The resource will also help support various groups (like reporting, devops, testing team, etc.) to help populate data structures
In certain instances, the resource will need to build a solution from scratch and make sure the solution follows the same architecture without over-engineering. There will be both scenarios where existing ETL will need to be modified to add/remove data elements
Designing and coding the data warehousing system to desired company specifications.
Conducting preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data is extracted.
Extracting company data and transferring it into the new warehousing environment.
Testing the new storage system once all the data has been transferred.
Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
Holds a college degree in any discipline
Minimum of 2 years just working on various ETL tools. If the resource has advanced experience in Azure Data Factory (1+ years), it's a plus point
Having a minimum of 2 years of experience is a pretty good start as the resource will have had enough exposure on developing in an ETL tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Talend, or Domo
Highly skilled in SQL/building stored procedures in both SQL Server and Snowflake (which is a similar skillset). Advanced SQL Skills; T-SQL (MSSQL scripting language)
As for BI, the resource should have an understanding of any methodology
Advanced parameterization skills to dynamically change aspects of the ETL job
Debugging/ Problem Solving skill is a must
Nice to have scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Bash
