About the job Accountant (w/ US Taxation Experience)
The resource will be responsible for the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as assist with reviewing tax returns (1040, 1040NR, 1120s, 1065, 1120) that tax preparers worked on before and tax preparation for some complex tax returns. Resource is expected to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation federal and state income tax returns, including corporate and partnership tax preparation
Assist in excel calculation of estimated tax payments and extensions
Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
Presenting data to managers, investors, and other entities.
Maintaining accurate financial records.
Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.\
Prepare excel work papers in support of federal and state income tax returns
Reconcile book fixed asset activity (additions, transfer and disposals) to tax depreciation reports for annual tax return compliance and propose adjustments to be made in the tax fixed asset software
Other accounting duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting related positions
Minimum 2 years of US Federal Tax experience is required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a big plus but not required
Good Excel or Google Sheet skills
Good English communication skills
Willing to work on a shifting schedule or based on business needs
