Senior Platform Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Full remote) for an International client in the Technology sector.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices in production environments.
• Advanced AWS expertise, including cloud architecture, IAM, networking, deployment strategies, and production operations.
• Proven experience designing, building, or operating distributed systems at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership of mission-critical production systems with stringent resilience, SLA, and uptime requirements.
• Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and post-incident improvement initiatives.
• Solid systems engineering fundamentals across Linux, networking, containers, runtime environments, and service-to-service communication.
• Engineering mindset with the ability to automate processes, develop tooling, read and understand code, and troubleshoot across the technology stack.

Preferred Experience

• PostgreSQL administration and optimization at scale.
• Experience operating ECS/Fargate workloads in production environments.
• Hands-on ownership of GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD platforms, with a focus on deployment safety and release governance.
• Strong observability practices using tools such as OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and related monitoring solutions.
• Experience with service mesh technologies, including Envoy, Istio, proxies, and network engineering concepts.
• Knowledge of MicroVMs, workload isolation technologies, and runtime security mechanisms.
• Experience with OPA, OpenFGA, Zanzibar-inspired authorization models, or advanced IAM and policy management frameworks.
• Background working in regulated industries or environments with demanding security, compliance, and resilience requirements.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling development.
• Ability and willingness to read and understand Rust code when required.
• Experience working across different infrastructure models, including additional cloud providers, on-premises, or bare-metal environments.

Role Profile

• Senior Individual Contributor role with significant hands-on technical leadership.
• Broad ownership spanning platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, reliability engineering, observability, networking, and operational security.
• Security viewed as a core platform responsibility rather than a standalone function.
• Kubernetes knowledge is advantageous but not essential; the current platform is primarily based on ECS/Fargate.
• Success is measured through technical ownership, engineering excellence, operational impact, and influence on platform standards and practices.
