About the position:
The selected candidate will actively contribute to the development of the company’s portfolio of thrusters for the in-space sector, collaborating closely with key partners within Europe’s space ecosystem and being part of one of Europe’s most inspiring space programs. Furthermore, the candidate will engage in other propulsion-related development activities within the company.
The role demands a high level of autonomy and responsibility, offering direct involvement throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concepts to testing, maintaining continuous contact with the hardware as part of an iterative maturation process.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the development of future green ACS engines to meet Europe’s space transportation needs
- Coordinate with the current bipropellant team to scale up the current product of the company
- Interface with the customer, as main technical responsible
- Define and validate requirements, interface management
- Define testing and qualification strategy
- Development team management
- Preliminary design tasks, contribution to detailed technical tasks depending on experience
- Testing data analysis and performance verification
Required competences:
- MSc. in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Relevant experience (>5 years) in development of liquid bipropellant thrusters and apogee engines for the space industry
- Good knowledge of rocket engine design and analysis
- Experience in AIT of liquid propulsion systems
- Experience in testing and data analysis
- Coding experience in math environments (MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python)
- Experience with FEA / CFD analysis (ANSYS)
- Proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate in an international environment
Nice to have:
- Demonstrated project management skills, especially with regards to road mapping and budgeting
- Experience working on liquid rocket engine developments in agile and fast paced teams, with tight deadlines and with a higher risk approach
- Knowledge about qualification campaigns definition and execution for commercial products, according to (tailored) ECSS.
- Experience in CAD modeling (Siemens NX)
- Fluent in Spanish.
