Wireless Validation Engineer

About the Opportunity

JUARA IT Solutions is urgently hiring an experienced Wireless Validation Engineer for one of our leading technology clients in San Diego.
This is a hands-on onsite position requiring strong device-side protocol expertise.
(Please note: candidates with only network RF/RAN-side experience will not be considered.)

The selected engineer will play a key role in validating network-connected devices across 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, and GNSS interfaces, collaborating with firmware teams to ensure top-tier wireless performance across on-vehicle and cloud-integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute unit and system-level validation tests for wireless and fixed networks.
• Perform functional, performance, and compliance testing on 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, GNSS, Ethernet, and IP protocols.
• Investigate and resolve performance and interoperability issues through advanced debugging and analytics.
• Set up and manage test infrastructures using Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz platforms, including custom scripting (Python, TTCN).
• Develop and maintain lab setups, RF cabling, and emulation environments.
• Prepare and present Test Plans, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reports, and Validation Reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of wireless validation experience, focused on device-side protocols.
• Expertise in 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and IP network protocols.
• Proficiency in wireless test platforms (Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz) and modem board testing.
• Experience with PTCRB/GCF/SFN certification and US MNO field testing.
• Hands-on experience in Wi-Fi PHY designs and coexistence testing (Wi-Fi, Cellular, GNSS).
• Strong proficiency with QXDM, Wireshark, and similar analysis tools.
• Advanced scripting and automation experience (Python, JavaScript).

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of 5G NR SA/NSA, PHY/MAC/RRC layers, and protocol stack.
• Exposure to Automotive Test Assets or HIL systems.
• Experience with Polarion, Ubuntu CLI, and Atlassian (Jira/Confluence).
• Proven leadership in wireless validation and end-to-end product quality initiatives.
