Responsibilities:

Curriculum and Instructional Management:

  • Lead curriculum review horizontal and vertical for the Khmer curriculum to be in alignment with the schoolwide learning outcomes and the definition of high-quality teaching and learning (HQTL) that fit with the school context and student needs.
  • Lead and monitor the implementation of Khmer curriculum to ensure student learning in the Khmer program achieve the national standards of literacy in each grade level.
  • Lead and support Khmer teaching staff to ensure that their teaching practice is ethical and modeling the Cambodian values and learning environment that thrives for excellence, values good morality, fairness and positive support to all learners.
  • Plan Khmer teacher leave and coverage plan.
  • Lead and support all teachers in reinforcement of positive classroom management.
  • Plan academic and extra-curricular activities to promote student joy for learning and enriched learning experiences in accordance with the schoolwide learning outcomes.
  • Lead extra-curricular activities that promote student global competency such public speaking and debates clubs, IELTS and SAT prep clubs, student leadership and service-learning clubs, and other clubs that enriches student global competency.
  • Plan summer program that can attract student interest and enrich their learning experience.
  • Lead and support all teachers in teaching pedagogy to raise student academic achievements in both international tests (NWEA MAP, IELTS, SAT and AP) and in Khmer Program.
  • Take part in report writing and leading steering committees for international accreditations.
  • Conduct walk-through observations regularly and provide feedback for improvement to Khmer teachers and report feedback to the line management of International teachers to discuss areas for improvement in the international program to ensure there is a consistency of good teaching practices across the school.
  • Report on progress of implementation of school curriculum content both international and Khmer programs.
  • Report about Khmer program achievement, challenges and recommendation to overcome the challenges to the school leadership team monthly.
  • Fill-in temporary as English Language Art Teacher when there is an emergency leave of any teacher.
  • Serve as teachers line management if appointed by the school director based on staffing needs.
  • Fulfil other tasks that related to the curriculum and instructional management based on school needs and assignment by the school director.

Student Learning Progress, Counseling and Community Relations:

  • Review student achievement data from multiple angles including internal assessments, international test and observations and propose actions plans increase student achievements school wide.
  • Conduct workshop, seminar or presentation about the school programs and service to increase student engagement in their learning and school activities.
  • Conduct presentation or seminar in school events or in the media to promote about the school quality and program.
  • Meet with prospective students and/or their parents to promote about the school program and quality.
  • Meet with students and/or their parents to address their concerns either in terms of academic results or emotional well-being.
  • Meet with students and/or their parents to address about student conduct.
  • Take part in student well-being committee to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Take part in university counseling program and provide counseling to students in accordance with school university readiness program and policies.
  • Take on other tasks assigned by the school director related to improve student learning and community relations.

Line management duties:

  • Conduct formal staff evaluation and on-going feedback to ensure staff under line management fulfill the responsibilities of their respective position.
  • Ensure all staff working under line management work in compliance with school policies and employee code of conduct.
  • Address staff incompliances in accordance with staff disciplinary policy in the timely manner for resolution.
  • Provide new staff orientation and on-going support in their day to day at school.
  • Participate in the interview of new staff when requested by the school director.
  • Manage staff leave and prepare cover schedule and cover plan.
  • Review staff work plan and feedback areas to prioritizes.
  • Lead meetings and motivate staff to thrive for excellence.
  • Other tasks related to personnel management and motivation.
