Position Overview: The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance department, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, managing accounting operations, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles. The Head of Finance will work closely with senior management to ensure the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

o Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in

compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).

o Analyze financial data, provide insights, and report financial performance to

senior management.

o Coordinate and lead the preparation of financial reports for external stakeholders

(e.g., auditors, tax authorities, etc.).

2. Supervision of Finance Team:

o Manage, mentor, and train a team of accountants to ensure efficient and accurate

operations.

o Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and provide feedback to team members.

o Conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative and high-performance

work environment.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:

o Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments

and collections.

o Monitor cash flow and work with the team to improve cash management

processes.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

o Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

o Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting

any variances.

5. Internal Controls and Compliance:

o Develop, implement, and maintain internal accounting controls to safeguard the

organizations assets.

o Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, including tax

filings and audits.

o Stay updated on changes in accounting laws and regulations, ensuring the

company remains compliant.

6. General Ledger Maintenance:

o Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of the general ledger, including monthly

reconciliation of all accounts.

o Review journal entries and post corrections where needed.

7. Process Improvement:

o Continuously evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to

increase efficiency and reduce errors.

o Lead or participate in projects related to system upgrades or financial process

automation.

8. Tax Preparation and Filing:

o Coordinate the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing in compliance

with local, state, and federal regulations.

o Work with external tax professionals to ensure tax efficiency and adherence to tax

laws.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA

certification preferred).

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a

supervisory role.

- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP,

Oracle, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.

- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make informed

decisions.

- Leadership Skills: Experience in managing and developing a team, with a focus on

driving performance and fostering a positive work culture.

- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing financial reports and analyzing

data.

- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-

financial stakeholders.

Salary: $1500 - $2500
