Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from smart grid sources, including sensors, meters, and IoT devices.
  • Develop and implement data models to predict energy demand, optimize load distribution, and support grid stability.
  • Conduct analysis on power quality, outage events, and energy distribution to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with engineers and other analysts to integrate data analytics into smart grid planning and infrastructure development.
  • Use statistical methods, machine learning, and data visualization tools to uncover patterns and trends that enhance grid performance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations with findings, insights, and recommendations for stakeholders, including grid operators and energy managers.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis or analytics within energy, utilities, or a related industry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present findings effectively.
    • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
    • Strong understanding of time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
    • Knowledge of data management platforms and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of smart grid technologies, grid operations, and energy distribution systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with IoT data from grid sensors and smart meters.
  • Knowledge of energy policy, sustainability practices, and regulatory compliance in the utilities sector.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and grid management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data sets.
