Job Description:

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors and  Development on all finance and capital markets matters.

Responsibilities:

Work with and assist the Board of Directors on all finance matters associated with new developments, acquisitions, and ongoing asset management.

In collaboration with the Board of Directors and real estate team members, secure construction financing for new development projects and/or permanent financing for completed projects and acquisitions.

Assess viability of new projects and give guidance on debt assumptions.

Identify project risks and mitigants.

Supervise the preparation of financing packages and distribute to potential lenders.

Gather and evaluate lender proposals; prepare recommendations on the best financing option for each project and situation.

In partnership with the Board of Directors, foster and maintain existing banking relationships as well as develop new relationships.

Assist in management of investment models.

Maintain active investment models and ensure they are current and accurate.

Support Board of Directors and other team members on a wide range of company-wide financial matters.

Ongoing investor, lender, and board level reporting.

Proactive management of debt portfolio.

Annual budgeting process and monthly follow up.

Maintain confidentiality of company information.

Adhere to guiding principles of partnership, humility, principled entrepreneurship, initiative, fulfilment, and integrity.

Manage daily cash flow activities.

Manage all accounting transactions.

Prepare budget forecasts and budget analysis.

Publish financial statements in time.

Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

Reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly.

Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.

Report on the company's financial health and liquidity.

Audit financial transactions and documents.

Construction loan administration.

Work with outside CPA for income tax preparations and financial statement review.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
5+ years as a Controller, Accounting Manager or Finance Manager.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Ability to understand, interpret and analyze financial data.
Proven analytical skills.
Hands on experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks.
Superior planning and organization skills with high attention to detail and deadline-oriented
Ability to think strategically and manage multiple initiatives.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Bilingual, in English and Spanish, preferred.
