Job Summary

To serve as the receptionist for the front desk at the University Writing Center during extended evening hours, assist tutors as needed, and perform administrative tasks as needed.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently with general supervision. Strong customer service skills. Strong organizational skills. Experience using BeachConnect (Desired). Experience using Zoom (Desired). Experience with tutoring writing (Desired). Experience with social media content creation (Desired). Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early evening hours, up to 20 hours a week.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Equivalent to three (3) years of administrative support experience required. Bachelors' Degree (English, Humanities preferred). Master's Degree (desired).

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $18.00 to $26.49 per hour.

Time Base

Hourly/intermittent, on-call temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
