About the job Senior Data Analyst (Remote)
The Data Analyst is responsible for assisting in the administration of compensation at Clemson University. This includes serving as a resource to the university on compensation matters; conducting pay analyses and audits; annual increase modeling and administration, participating in salary surveys; maintaining the survey management system and, providing guidance on pay practices. Responsible for tracking, analyzing employee data and creating reports (including employee lists, turnover data, market analyses, etc.).
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Analyzes data and prepares statistical reports related to job review activities, salary equity issues, and trend analysis. Designs and adjusts salary structures, pay grades, job architecture and compensation packages. Conducts and participates in compensation surveys or special compensation studies for external benchmarking. Creates and maintains standard compensation reports, ad hoc reports, and queries. Makes recommendations regarding base salary levels, hiring ranges for a given position, supplemental payments, and appropriate grade assignment.
25% - Essential - Provide technical support for the annual compensation increase program(s), including the development and maintenance of spreadsheet-based tools and models used to evaluate compensation and financial modeling. Administer annual bonus process for eligible employees.
15% - Essential - Complete data analysis on salary comparisons and classification alignment. Conducts and organizes data gathering; including reports in support of projects and compensation inquiries.
15% - Essential - Evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending revisions, which are cost effective, consistent with compensation trends and University objectives; assists in the implementation of any changes. May prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation programs.
5% - Essential - Performs regular reports/audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws. Audit HRIS employee compensation and job data elements to facilitate data correction activity. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree; Professional experience related to the position.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Finance, Accounting, Business Analysis;
Experience in Human Resources, Total Rewards or Compensation. 1-3 years of data or financial analysis related experience.
