Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong Wire EDM experience to join our manufacturing team in Knoxville, TN. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who can work independently with minimal training and contribute immediately to production operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC equipment to manufacture high-precision components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Wire EDM machines.
- Program, edit, and troubleshoot G-Code programs at machine controls.
- Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Complete production documentation and quality records accurately.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of CNC machining experience.
- Hands-on experience with Wire EDM machinery.
- Strong experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in programming and editing G-Code.
- Experience working with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T drawings.
- Strong shop math and trigonometry skills.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Makino CNC or Wire EDM machines.
- Experience using EDM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, or similar platforms.
- Experience machining ceramic materials.
- Background in precision manufacturing environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
