Job Title: Lead Production Manager - Steel & Metal Fabrication

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Production Manager to oversee the steel and metal fabrication process. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry, with a strong background in managing production, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the successful execution of fabrication projects. The Lead Production Manager will play a crucial role in constructability reviews, developing fabrication strategies, providing technical support, managing materials, and finalizing weekly progress reports.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Inter-discipline Coordination:

- Coordinate between members of the operations support groups during detail design, fabrication, offshore installation, and hook-up phases.

- Supervise discipline Production engineers and identify resource needs for the project.

2. Project Management:

- Manage overall project progress and productivity reporting, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.

- Regularly communicate production engineer resource needs to the Procurement Department.

- Understand contractual scope, contract type, and milestone schedules.

3. Collaboration and Communication:

- Maintain regular interaction with SITE TEAM and Main contractor team.

- Review constructability and ensure work execution plans are based on the most productive options.

- Chair fabrication meetings, conduct 4WLA (What, Where, When, and Who Analysis), and prioritize material and drawings accordingly.

4. Documentation and Change Management:

- Document all scope of work changes and coordinate AFC estimate updates.

- Initiate and approve all revision orders and change orders via the DTCM.

- Solve technical problems, initiate site queries, and minimize work disruptions.

5. Safety and Leadership:

- Lead by example in following company safety policies.

- Chair fabrication meetings, forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet project contract schedules.

6. Project Execution and Delivery:

- Manage weekly fabrication progress and productivity, ensuring it stays within budget.

- Manage scope of work changes, update AFC estimates, and initiate revision and change orders.

- Develop a work pack index, set priorities, and establish deliverable dates for discipline teams.

7. Communication and Coordination:

- Interface with key project personnel such as project cost engineers, marine operations engineers, and Quality managers.

- Lead constructability program efforts for fabrication and incorporate project lessons learned into the global database.

8. Qualifications:

- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

9. Experience:

- 8+ years of related experience with competency in computer software (MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Project).

Competencies:

- Ability to make decisions on day-to-day operational issues in discussion with the Operations Director.
