Head of Finance - Rail Industry

Our client, a prominent player in the Rail industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Finance to lead their finance department in Hyderabad. As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute financial strategies and plans aligned with the company's goals and objectives in the Rail industry.
• Manage and supervise the finance team, providing leadership, guidance, and performance evaluation to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring their accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data, identify key trends, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making and strategic planning.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risks, implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure the financial stability of the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial support and guidance in areas such as project planning, contract negotiations, and business development.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory guidelines applicable to the Rail industry, and ensure the organization's compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to optimize financial operations and secure necessary funding for projects.
• Provide financial analysis and support for investment decisions, capital allocation, and cost management initiatives.
• Support the CFO and senior management in strategic initiatives, business planning, and financial modeling.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, CMA) are desirable.
2. 5-8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, preferably within the Rail industry.
3. Proven experience in a leadership role, managing a finance team and overseeing financial operations.
4. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
5. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and standards in the Rail industry.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MS Excel).
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
9. Strong leadership abilities with the aptitude to inspire and motivate the finance team.
10. High attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
