Job Purpose:

The Head of Investment will lead the development and execution of corporate development strategies to maximize revenue from owned assets and drive the organization's inorganic growth. This role is essential in aligning strategic initiatives with the companys overall direction, ensuring financial and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the formulation of strategic objectives in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into operating plans, aligning and integrating with other related strategies and plans.
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of the annual budget for Corporate Development & Strategy based on strategic plans, monitoring financial performance regularly, while ensuring all activities are conducted within the set budget and approved guidelines.
  • Manage the development and oversee the implementation of policies, processes, and procedures across all areas of Corporate Development & Investment to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and consistent services, aligned with international best practices and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices, considering global standards, productivity improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Manage the timely and accurate development of periodic and ad-hoc management reports and progress reports to keep the leadership informed about the progress of various plans and initiatives, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Lead talent development initiatives for assigned functions in collaboration with the Human Capital function to ensure the availability of skilled talent based on business needs and requirements.
  • Oversee the effective achievement of assigned objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, and developing and motivating employees to maximize performance.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a corporate development strategy in line with the overall strategic direction and approved risk appetite to enable business growth.
  • Drive the identification of potential inorganic growth opportunities (e.g., expansion into new business segments, entry into new markets) through various means such as strategic alliances/partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Lead the evaluation and review of opportunities identified centrally or by various Business Units, assessing their strategic fit and commercial viability.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews and develop plans for newly identified opportunities, identifying key actions and recommendations to support the strategic direction.
  • Present potential and attractive opportunities to senior leadership and the Board of Directors, advising on necessary actions.
  • Lead the structuring and negotiation of strategic transactions in alignment with the organizations strategic direction.
  • Oversee continuous collaboration with internal stakeholders and third parties (e.g., counterparts in joint ventures) to ensure the successful execution of all agreed-upon transactions and agreements.
  • Periodically monitor the organizations investments to ensure they meet established objectives and KPIs; identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external advisors and lead engagement with them to support corporate development activities, ensuring alignment with the organization's needs, requirements, and quality standards.
  • Lead the development and oversee the implementation of an asset management strategy and plans to maximize the value and revenues of the organizations owned assets.
  • Monitor the performance of each asset periodically, directing actions to maximize asset utilization and revenue.

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Business Development, preferably within the entertainment, hospitality, or related sectors.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role, directing key functions within the organization and managing substantial resources.
