Job Summary: We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our remote team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems to support our data-driven applications and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, along with expertise in big data technologies, ETL processes, and data modeling. Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses and data lakes.
- Design and optimize data models and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval of data.
- Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability issues, and implement solutions as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest data engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Mentor junior data engineers and provide guidance on data engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a focus on building data pipelines and systems.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Flink.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
