Hook Up Works Leader: The Hook Up Works Leader (Electrical Installation & Pre-commissioning Activities) will be responsible for supervising the installation of all electrical systems and leading the precommissioning phase to ensure they are operationally ready. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in electrical installations, testing, and project management for large-scale industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the installation of electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, power distribution systems, and control panels.
- Manage hook-up activities for electrical systems, ensuring proper integration with other project systems such as telecommunications and instrumentation.
- Oversee all pre-commissioning activities, including testing and validation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
- Ensure that all installations are carried out according to the projects design and within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Supervise subcontractors and coordinate with project management teams to align onsite activities with project objectives.
- Implement testing procedures to ensure the electrical systems are safe and meet operational requirements, such as megger testing, high-voltage cable testing, and functional testing of electrical protection systems.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on installation and pre-commissioning progress, including risk assessments and solutions to potential issues.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures during installation and pre-commissioning activities. Ensure that HSE and Quality procedures for Hook-up activities are correctly implemented.
- Interface with project stakeholders, including the client and subcontractors, to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
- Define Hook-up Project Execution Plan, interfacing with Fabrication and commissioning in line with Project requirements.
- Support the Project Management Team into the definition of Hook-up budget in line with the Project Execution Plan
- Support Project Control in definition of schedule, staffing plan and cost control report.
- Ensure the preparation of Hook-up document list and Hook-up procedures and specifications.
- Develop in cooperation with Fabrication a carry-over analysis aimed to minimize project disruptions due to non-completed activities in Fabrication Yard
- Contribute into the preparation of project lessons learnt guaranteeing the monitoring of hook-up performance to capitalize experiences and identifying areas of improvement.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Certifications in project management (PMP or equivalent) or commissioning are an advantage.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in electrical installation and pre-commissioning activities for large-scale industrial projects.
- Hands-on experience with High-voltage/Medium Voltage power systems, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems. Characteristics
