Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare Statements of Advice (SOAs), Records of Advice (ROAs), and other financial planning documentation in Xplan.
  • Conduct end-to-end investment/product research using Xplan WealthSolver, including loading and verifying current, legacy, and closed products.
  • Build recommended product scenarios, accurately configure fees and costs, and prepare like-for-like product comparisons.
  • Conduct end-to-end personal insurance research using Xplan Risk Researcher, including Insurance Needs Analysis and recommendations across Life, TPD, Trauma, and Income Protection.
  • Accurately record existing insurance cover, including cover held within superannuation, and manage different ownership structures and split TPD arrangements.
  • Conduct financial modelling using CALM, including 10-year capital and cash flow projections and retirement funding modelling.
  • Prepare financial models involving SMSFs, companies, discretionary trusts, and other non-individual entities.
  • Build comparison scenarios and produce clear, accurate, and presentation-ready modelling outputs.
  • Interpret modelling results and clearly explain the key drivers behind outcomes.
  • Work from a strategy brief to independently produce presentation-ready SOAs and ROAs using Xplan.
  • Ensure advice documents are prepared in accordance with licensee-approved templates, Australian regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Write advice documentation in clear, concise, and client-friendly Australian English.
  • Support implementation of superannuation, investment, and insurance strategies, including rollovers, contributions, pension commencement, platform applications, underwriting follow-up, and policy placement.
  • Maintain and update accurate client records and supporting documentation in Xplan.
  • Coordinate directly with the Principal Adviser and support team to ensure client deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide technical paraplanning, research, modelling, and advice production support as required.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Australian paraplanning experience, with experience gained within the last 12 months.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Xplan experience, using Xplan as a daily production tool (Essential).
  • Proven experience preparing SOAs and ROAs from start to finish (Essential).
  • Strong hands-on experience using Xplan WealthSolver for investment and product research (Essential).
  • Strong hands-on experience using Xplan Risk Researcher for personal insurance research (Essential).
  • Proven experience with financial modelling, including retirement, cash flow, and capital modelling (Essential).
  • Experience working with SMSFs and non-individual entities, including companies and discretionary trusts (Essential).
  • Experience working within an Australian financial planning practice (Essential).
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial planning regulations, compliance requirements, and licensee standards (Essential).
  • Ability to work independently from a strategy brief with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to prepare client-facing documentation to an Australian standard.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Experience Advantage

  • Experience using Paradino, including strategy papers, advice requests, and SOA/ROA generation.
  • Experience working with Millennium 3 Financial Services or WT Financial Group templates and compliance standards.
  • Experience with HUB24, including Choice and Discover investment menus.
  • Experience with SMSF strategy, including Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements (LRBA).
  • Experience with direct equity and ETF portfolio construction.
