JOB TITLE: Code 10 Driver (Oil & Gas)

Purpose of Job

Under the direction of the Logistics Manager & Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient and friendly control of all delivery related tasks.

Basic Roles and Requirements

  • A Valid Code 10, DGP, PDP, and Dangerous Goods Certification.
  • Ability to work under pressure, an eye for detail with a positive attitude.
  • Fluency in English, Afrikaans & basic Xhosa is advantageous.
  • Basic Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act and Business Processes.
  • Be a Team player Assistance to fellow employees during normal daily routines. Assist with enhancing the skills of your fellow colleagues and strive to create a friendly and respectful working environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To ensure quick, timed, and friendly deliveries are carried out under the direction of the Logistics and Warehouse Manager
  • To assist (when no deliveries are required) with Warehouse functions under the direction of the Logistics and Warehouse Manager
  • To accurately check and record all delivery transactions on the required business documentation and load sheets.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks, pre-trip, and post trip inspections. Report findings to Logistics and Warehouse Manager
  • Liaising with all customers in a professional and accurate manner.
  • To be responsible for all stock loaded and delivered for customer purposes.
  • To assist the van assistant in the loading and offloading of products during the course of business.
  • Pumping of oil to various customers and ensuring all HSEQ formalities are followed.
  • To adhere to all systems the Shareholders and Managers wish to incorporate in the daily functions of the business.
  • To provide a service by maintaining positive relationships with customers.
  • To continuously aim to improve own work systems and methods.
  • Ensure the necessary disciplines while in transit are followed by the respective van assistants on your truck/bakkie. e.g. offloading and loading stock onto your vehicle.
  • Ensuring of pro-active driver habits while driving the vehicle.
  • To ensure and control the maintenance and roadworthiness of the truck/bakkie used for distribution purposes. This includes servicing as per the vehicles logbook and service requirements, licensing, tires and regular once over checks on the vehicle.
  • To adhere to all systems the Shareholders and Managers wish to incorporate in the daily functions of the business.
  • Any other functions within reason that Management should wish to change or update.
  • Any other duties as instructed by Management.
