Position Overview

The General Manager will oversee all operations at the Polypropylene Textiles plant located in Durban. This role demands a highly qualified individual with a strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering and extensive experience in managing large-scale manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall operations of the Polypropylene Textiles plant.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase production efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure that the plant meets all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of machinery and equipment.
• Manage a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Monitor and control budgets and financial performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and clients to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing manufacturing plants, with a preference for experience in textiles or similar industries.
• Proven track record of leadership and management in a complex industrial environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
