Role title: Graphic Designer
Our client is seeking a graphic designer as an integral part to our communication and visual storytelling, which engages, informs, and inspires. We're looking for a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations in print and digital media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process. Collaborating with our team, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with our audiences.
Role purpose:
Responsible for all digital and print media graphic design, projects, campaigns, and tasks to maintain and evolve the visual identity and storytelling of our client.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven 3-5 years experience in digital and print media graphic design.
- Experience with web design and backend management (Squarespace/Webflow).
- Experience with InDesign software.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Web programming languages (HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of web design, UI/UX principles, and proficiency in design tools for digital interfaces (e.g. Adobe XD).
- Ability to translate complex concepts into visually appealing and easy-to-understand graphics.
- Experience with print media, including brochures, journals, posters and large-format prints.
- Skills in creating animations and editing videos (e.g., using After Effects)
- Understand responsive design principles for adapting designs across different devices (mobile, desktop, etc.).
- Experience building wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to communicate design concepts.
- Able to think outside the box and offer creative solutions to visual problems, ensuring designs are aligned with business objectives.
- Ability to maintain and evolve a consistent visual identity for the brand, including logo design, typography, colour schemes, and overall brand guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail in all design aspects, from pixel-perfect layouts to typography choices and colour consistency.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English is required, and Afrikaans would be helpful.
