About the job Temp Toolmaker

We are looking for a skilled and experienced toolmaker to join our team in the automotive industry. You will be responsible for designing, making, modifying, and repairing tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other precision components used in the production of metal parts and assemblies. You will work with engineers, machinists, and other toolmakers to ensure the quality and accuracy of the tools and products.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
  • Use manual and computer-controlled machines, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDMs, to produce and modify tools and components.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs, to check the dimensions and tolerances of the tools and components.
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the tools and components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of the work done and the materials used.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training program in tool and die making or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a toolmaker in the automotive industry or a similar environment.
  • Proficient in using manual and computer-controlled machines and tools.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Availability to start work as soon as possible.
  • Flexibility to work on a contractual basis and according to the production schedule.
