Position: Toolroom Manager

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified toolmaker with at least seven years experience in a tool room environment.
• Experience in multiple facets of tool room activities.
• Supervisory experience is essential due to the importance of quality working tools for production.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the full tooling operation for new and existing projects.
• Manage and control the manufacture of tooling timeously within cost constraints while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure customer satisfaction in tool quality.
• Ensure that an efficient maintenance plan is in place tools are maintained on time as per schedule.
• Control costs as per budget.
• Manage and lead a team of technical workforce in good housekeeping practices and discipline.
• Manage and build a competent and flexible team in respect of multi-skilling.
• Ensure that interdepartmental communication is maintained and procedures adhered to.
• Ensure that training takes place in the department.
• Schedule and maintain workload and assign work to subordinates.
• Liaise with the Project team on new projects, capacity tooling staff, and input on timing plans.
• Liaise with and resolve technical issues together with the Project team.
